Installing garden lighting

Garden lighting gives a garden a clear and attractive appearance even after sunset. Lighting adds ambience and helps with orientation and safety. By adding light in the right places, paths, terraces and borders remain visible in the evening. Installing garden lighting does not have to be complicated. Thanks to the 12-volt system from Lightpro, you can easily install garden lighting in your garden. No technical knowledge is required and the cables do not need to be buried. This makes it easy to expand the system or replace a light later on.

Why choose 12-volt garden lighting?

12-volt garden lighting is popular because the system is easy to install. It is safe to install yourself, as the lighting operates on low voltage. In addition, the cables do not need to be buried, allowing you to easily move or add lights later.

A 12-volt system consists of several components that together form a network. This structure keeps the system clear and flexible. The system also uses energy-efficient LED lighting, keeping power consumption low.

How does the Lightpro system work?

The Lightpro system works with a transformer that converts mains voltage to 12 volts. A main cable runs from the transformer through the garden. You connect the lights to this cable using connectors. If you use the maximum wattage of your transformer, you can use up to 80 metres of cable from the transformer, with an even lighting distribution. This creates a flexible network to which you can easily add or move lights.

The system has a modular design, making it easy to expand step by step. This makes it suitable for both small and large gardens. The system is widely used by landscapers and garden designers, but is also ideal for homeowners who want to install their own garden lighting.

Step 2

Choosing the right transformer is the next step. If you add up the wattage of all your outdoor lights, you’ll know which transformer you need. Make sure you always have some extra wattage capacity. This will make it easy to add additional lights later on.

Connecting the transformer is simple: attach the main cable to the M-connector and plug it into the transformer.

Step 3

Now it’s time to connect the cables. Run the main cable along the areas where the lights will be installed. Next, connect Connector F to the system. Use an extension cable to connect the branch cables, and plug Connector M into Connector F on the main cable. Then connect the light to Connector F on the branch cable.

Thanks to this system, it remains easy to add or replace lights later on. If you use the maximum wattage of your transformer, you can use up to 80 metres of cable from the transformer, with an even lighting distribution.
