Lightpro makes lighting specifications more transparent

At Lightpro, we believe it’s important that you know exactly what to expect from our products. Until now, we listed the number of lumens without clearly distinguishing between gross and net luminous flux. This could give a distorted picture. That’s why we are now switching to a clear and realistic key figure: net luminous flux.

What’s the difference?

• Gross luminous flux
  This is the number of lumens produced by the light source itself, without the influence of a fixture, glass, or lens. 
• Net luminous flux
  This is the number of lumens that actually comes out of the lamp, including all components such as glass, lens, and cover. This gives you a realistic view of what you experience in practice. 

Why is this important?

Lumen (lm) is the unit of luminous flux, the total amount of visible light emitted by a source. The higher the number of lumens, the brighter the light appears. By using net luminous flux, we provide you with an honest and transparent specification that reflects reality.
